*ALL* bugs in code or mistakes in operation look equally stupid,
silly and embarassingly obvious -- once you find them! Until then,
they are the Secret of the Lost Pharaoh.
The purpose of software and hardware is to teach us to put our
egos to the side.
Right now I'm wrestling on some stupid bug about why OpenBSD 3.9
will recognize only the second SCSI drive on the siop (SCSI card)
of an old Compaq [spit] Proliant 800, whereas OpenBSD 3.7 (and every
earlier version I've dried) recognizes both the drives. Part of
the fun is that this Dumbass [tm] machine doesn't have a real BIOS
setup routine, unlike sane computers... But I would look like a
moron to ask anywhere, so I'm ashamed to ask. I'll eventually get
to it... I have some goofy plans for that machine. My general
approach (I know nothing about SCSI) will be to diff old and new
driver code. I don't know where to start -- another old machine
has a problem getting its CDRW drive recognized, somewhere the
device probing is new and improved.
