Set SSH to only accept ssh version 2, only accept ssh to a norman account and
su - to root. Use a somewhat cryptic account name that is not likely to be
used by a script kiddie. To lower the chance of them getting that right and
now pound it for the password. Of course you have a really cryptic root
password that does not exist in any dictionary.
Another tip is to stop using html in your emails.
Besides that no mailing list I ever saw allows it, it teaches others that it
is OK to use, while it actually makes it easy for someone to sneak in
commands on your computer and sets you up to receive more spam.
Granted it's mostly a problem when running a MS O/S, but we are not alone and
their problems keep leaking into our environment on way or another.
