Network monitoring

Hello all,

I am in need of a way to monitor the traffic on my Internet connection.

What products would you recommend for gathering statistics on
inbound-outbound traffic, that could be broken down by IP and ports?

I have been looking around today and have seen the typical MRTG etc, and
I found an article at OnLamp for "Monitoring Network Traffic with
Netflow". I actually got softflowd installed on my OBSD 3.9 and
collecting data and forwarding it to a flow-capture collector (on the
same machine), but the article breaks down for me after that. If refers
to some modules (FlowScan) that I can't quite get my head around, or
find in my 3.9 ports tree.
