Hi,
Just trying to get 4.1 GENERIC.MP working on a "Dell
Inc. Precision WorkStation 390", but the onboard
Broadcom BCM5754 seems to be muted.
Sniffing with tcpdump doesn't show the usual ARP, DHCP
discovers and netbios trash flowing over our corporate
LAN...
What should I try next? Maybe some kernel debugging?
BTW, the hardware & cabling operates just fine when
booting Gentoo and WinXP, so this must be a software
thingy.
I know the Broadcom interfaces are poorly documented,
so maybe using another NIC would be the quick
workaround, but I'd like to make it work, if only to
help others...
