Sendmail Problem with timeouts

I am getting timeouts while trying to relay mail through my server to 
other servers.
I have added PTR for all the domains, reduced to one IP address for all 
of them, added to IP address I am at to /etc/mail/access. Done all the 
hashing and restarting sendmail.
Still no luck. Can't find any answers except changing reverse DNS and 
that hasn't worked.
