help with printing

I recommend installing LPRng then install apsfilter.
Follow the instructions for setting up LPRng and then reboot
Then use apsfilter to setup your printer. Some printers may need you to
also install gutenprint for drivers.
You will need to switch from lpd to LPRng in kde. Its an option under
each printer.
I can't get anything to print from firefox or thunderbird unless I print
to a file and open the file with another application to print.
Apsfilter tells you to use lpc reread. This won't be the correct one.
You need to use /usr/local/sbin/lpc instead of /usr/sbin/lpc.
Same goes for lpq and lprm.
You may want to get the command locate working by running
/usr/libexec/locate.updatedb
After running that, locate will get regular updates and works much
faster than find.
